Family Podargidae (Frogmouths)

The family Podargidae consists of Frogmouths - plump, nocturnal birds with long tails, rounded wings, and broad bills. They are commonly confused with Owls because they posses the same cryptic plumage and silent flight. By day, they perch in the open disguised as broken tree branches.
